It is Day of the Dead in The City of Bridges when THE KID, a near homeless orphan looked after by his older sister, makes an ofrenda to summon his parents. What he encounters instead is a VAGABUNDO; a tramp who mistakenly takes the kid’s offering for himself. As the kid chases after him, he ends up under a bridge, in a place called THE UNDERWORLD where the forgotten, the lost and the dispossessed lay down for a night’s rest [LOS OLVIDADOS]. Offering his innocent insight to each of his new, lonely friends, The Kid insists in building an altar, and lighting a candle to honor their dead. The Kid learns about stories, as they all reconnect, of those people or lives that hide under bridges—whether real or fake. In a highly theatrical and metaphorical way, we encounter traditions, through ritual, through song, and good old-fashioned story-telling, in this darkly-whimsical play.

FIREROCK is an innovative arts and climate project that engages our environmental crisis with heart, imagination and connection. At the heart of FIREROCK is an all-ages, mythical, musical production that comes in two forms: the full-scale, professional, musical production and PASS THE SPARK – scalable, adaptable, localized FIREROCK DIY performances and engagement activities meant to connect people to actions and each other. Intended to meet people in their emotional, moral and spiritual life, this project expands climate engagement through meaningful commitments and pathways to collective action that increase our adoption of a low-carbon life.

The Latina/o Theatre Commons (LTC) is a self-organized collective of Latina/o theatremakers and scholars from across the country who have chosen to adopt a commons-based approach to advocate for Latina/o theatre as a vital, significant presence in the not-for-profit theatre sector. We foster emergent national leadership through an organic organizing method of activating our existing networks and expanding our circles of connection. We cultivate our collective wisdom through conscious conversation and conscientious community. All that we do seeks to celebrate diverse connections, honor our past with reflection, and envision our future with optimism and enthusiasm.

Horse Hair Strike Team; Waterville Maine 2013
A group of artists met in Maine for 5 weeks to devise a show for the community. We lived together, worked together, grew together and there are still red clown noses, (and a chair with our name on it, literally,) @ the Waterville Opera House.
